Day in the life of a St John WA Ambulance Paramedic

When you’re covering roughly a third of a landmass as big as WA, you can bet that no two days ever look the same as a St John WA paramedic. So between emergency and non-emergency calls, the one consistent you can expect is the unwavering support from our 3,200 strong team.

Shift timetable

We know that to operate at your peak, you need time to recharge. That’s why St John WA paramedics’ schedule comprises 2 days, 2 nights followed by 4 days off. And to make sure the load is shared, paramedics work rotating shifts including days and nights - inclusive of public holidays and weekends.

Day Shift

7 AM - 6 PM

Night Shift

6 PM - 7 AM
